Life of Athel Ztan[]
The Era of the Dunelords[]
A Rifterian anomaly during the Period of Genocide, Athel's home was victim to major bombings and deathruns in a time like no other. After the fall of many great kingdoms, the worlds was entranced in dust and debris, with remnants and remains of the last era. From the dust of the fallen, the world became enshrouded in anarchy, ruled by only the strongest. Many of these lost people formed cults, led by lords among the sands of Sirona. These individuals became known as Dunelords, prevalent leaders during the Recovery Era who forged their pathway among the major nations of the time.
Drop Zero Arc[]
During the Period of Genocide, Athel was a prominent warrior and soldier within the Rifterian Kingdom Corp, a symbol of his people and a keen analyst of battle; it would be in the 4th year of war that Drop Zero would be initiated, an encrypted sequence of messages that pertained to the drop of a nuclear warhead above Rifteria. thought to have been dropped by the Aerithians, the opinion of war grew distasteful in the eyes of the otherworld, who sought to end the conflict entirely if needed. In the wake of intense battle and tragedy, Athel was recalled back to Rifteria after the drop of the genocide bomb, a nuclear warhead that decimated hundreds of thousands within the city of Viera. One of the bloodiest days in Rifterian history, the day would become known as Red Tuesday, a day enshrouded in a storm of blood and souls. That day would change Athel forever, shaping him into the man he would become.
Drop One Arc[]
After the zero bomb, one great ruler of Astralis would traverse the ruinous world to unite the clans under one banner, to restore their world back to its former glory. His ascension would begin after history would repeat itself, starting with a mass display of militant defiance from the Rifterians, an action that would end in catastrophe for their people. Once more, a recovered warhead was dropped, an artifact of the Nuclear War recovered and utilized by the Originians in efforts to finally cleanse the world of their oldest rivals. Protocol hidden and framed by the Originians, the voices of the Rifterians would be silenced; that would be until their savior would finally appear, a man whose past would be linked with discovery. This man was Athel Ztan, father of the Reformation and former detective analyst, as well as a gifted soldier of Rifteria. In his quest to prove the actions of the Originians, Athel traversed the lands of Sirona in hopes of uncovering the true nature of its origin. After years of trials and tribulations, anarchistic battle and confrontation, the Sect of Athel would finally uncover truth on Drop Zero and One; once found, the Originians were brought to light, and Queen Aciva was executed for her warcrimes against the Rifterians.
Ascension[]
However, in finding truth, he also found out who he truly was. Among his conquests of truth, Athel would uncover the lost amulet of Yera, forged by the Primons over a billion years prior, instilled with the guidance of faith. An amulet of great power, the wearer could unite the world under their vision, as well as making the chosen immortal. These two attributes of its creation made the amulet the single most powerful artifact known to man; infused by the blessings of Yera, Athel understood the danger that would lay with him if he were to hold on to it forever. And so, after uniting the world, Athel would begin his plan of action spanning thousands of years; for once in his life, Athel finally felt calm and tranquil, untethered by time and space. He who would hold the amulet would hold the world, a fact Athel knew too well; he desired to destroy the amulet of power, yet virtually no methods proved effective in his thousands of years of effort. However, there was one way that the amulet would shatter; that way was with essentary power, an energy hidden deep within every individual that could be harnessed into intense elemental power. A Primordial awakening of sorts, Athel unlocked his essence during his reclamation of Sirona, becoming fated with divine ability. Stated by an ancient Primion oracle, "He who would usher in a new era of peace would be bewildered with intensive power of gods."
The Shield of Atheza, Protectors of the People[]
Companions of Athel Ztan, the Shield of Atheza was formed in efforts to protect their great leader during his divine mission of faith; among the remnants of the last age, the Sect of Athel was formed, comprised of Athel and his followers. Among his followers, he would appoint 6 of his greatest students to become his protectors and allies, who would share in the visions he conspired to accomplish; The Disciples of the Great Uniter, each of these individuals provided a pillar of assistance in Athel's grand mission. Notable individuals Ellexion Dawne (Left) and Kayaeon Endo (Right), served by his side in every command that he would ask of them; for them, the Great Uniter's will would transpire the way fate was placed by the Divine Architects. These two individuals were at the front and foremost of the Shield of Atheza, overseeing and participating in the last remaining rebellions prior to the final Reformation of Sirona. Until the time they fell, both individuals were praised in high regard by the Great Uniter himself, who saw them as more than just his followers; in the yes of Athel, they were some of his most trusted friends, people worth dying for.
Departure []
Entrusted with the destiny of choice, Athel decided that no being should be able to hold this power, unless the fate of the world would be at stake. And so he began to chip away at the amulet's foundation, shattering it into 3 pieces; from this shattering, the world started to revert back once more, ending this seemingly heaven-like era of peace. As the skies cleared and the path of fate was broken, Athel knew what needed to be done. He would embark on his mission of upmost importance, hiding the pieces of the amulet within both Sirona and its 3 moons; from the day he departed his homestead to the day the new nations were formed, both the amulet and Athel Ztan had been lost to time, and his whereabouts would be unknown until long after he was gone.
